CF Montreal signs SuperDraft defender Ousman Jabang

The French Canadians announced the Mercer product would be a part of their main squad in 2023 from the MLS SuperDraft.

CF Montréal announced Wednesday that defender Ousman Jabang signed his first professional contract with the Club, a one-year deal for the 2023 season, with three option years in 2024, 2025, and 2026.

“Ousman showed great things during the preseason, which allowed him to earn a contract,” said Vice-President and Chief Sporting Officer Olivier Renard. “We are confident that he still has a lot of room for improvement in the future. We officially welcome him to the group.”

The 21-year-old was CF Montréal’s third-round pick (75th overall) in the 2023 MLS SuperDraft. The Georgia native played 18 games and 1,525 minutes during the 2022 NCAA season. The defender started all games he featured in during the last two seasons, for 36 matches. He had his best season in 2021 with four goals and seven assists.

Jabang had been training with CF Montréal’s first team since the beginning of training camp, including participating in the team’s preseason matches.
