The stakes were high for LAFC as they entered Dignity Health Sports Park to play their rival, the LA Galaxy. The MLS Champs had never won at their cross-town rival stadium and were looking to capitalize on their opponent’s recent bad form. The Galaxy, in the meantime, was trying to shake off a very bad beginning of the season, the worst start in 15 years for the 5-time MLS Cup Champs.
After the game, a win for LAFC, the first ever for the new LA Franchise. Now, the two teams sit opposite in the standings, with LAFC in second, summing up 17 points and five wins. Meanwhile, the LA Galaxy is 13/14 in the West with 3 points.
