One of the youngest players in MLS Next Pro, Davi Alexandre celebrates his Brazilian roots

The II defender appeared in 14 games during the 2023 season

A championship created for the development of young athletes in the North American league, Next Pro is the gateway for many young people in the country. But one thing this season caught our attention. Davi Alexandre, born in the United States, son of Brazilian parents, competes in the competition whose base age is 21 to 23 years old, at just 16 years old. Currently, he is one of the youngest athletes in the entire tournament to compete in the competition.

A native defender, Davi caught the attention of the New York Red Bulls, where he arrived at the age of 14. Since then, he has received high-quality training and enrolled in an online school. Together with his Brazilian parents, they decided to invest in the dream of the young promise. Davi comments with joy on the opportunities he received this season.

Davi is seen as one of the great promises of North American football. At the beginning of this season, despite his young age, the defender was with the New York Red Bulls first team. In addition, he was part of the youth team’s call-ups. He was part of the team’s good campaign in MLS Next Pro this season, reaching the playoffs. There is a great expectation that Davi Alexandre will be integrated into the professional squad next season.

I am very grateful for the opportunities. This season was very important to learn and experience completely different things than ever before. I’m happy; I want to live more moments like this and evolve professionally and personally,” said the young man.
