New York City FC emerged victorious from the Hudson River Derby by defeating the New York Red Bulls 2-1 at the Citi Field.
The result places the “Citizens” in third place in the Eastern Conference with 23 points, the same as the Energetic Boys. However, City has one more victory (7 to 6).

The home team opened the scoring with Wolf just three minutes into the game. Still, in the first half, Harper tied the match with a beautiful shot from outside the box.
In the second half, New York City sought victory. After a beautiful offensive play that lasted almost two minutes, Bakrar redirected a cross near the small area to secure the three points for his team.

In the next round, New York City faces the New England Revolution on Saturday (25). Meanwhile, the New York Red Bulls will have more time to rest and will only return to the field on Wednesday (29), when they host Charlotte FC at the Red Bull Arena.
