Neymar at Inter Miami: Future plans for South Florida team could recreate the “MSN Trio”

If there is one place where surprises happen all the time, it is the world of soccer. If you went back five years, would you believe someone telling you that Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo would both be starring for Saudi Arabian clubs?

Or would you have thought Lionel Messi left European fields to enjoy the Florida sun with ? That Brazil would lose to Croatia on penalties in the 2022 World Cup quarterfinals, and Argentina would become the best team in the world?

Considering these hypothetical scenarios that few would believe, Inter Miami emerges again. Since Lionel Messi’s arrival in June 2023, the club has become the center of attention in international soccer and .

But what if the (MLS) club plans something even more ambitious? Like recreating the legendary MSN trio—Messi, Suárez, and Neymar—on MLS and fields? Could it happen nine years after that iconic attack conquered Europe and the world? As previously mentioned, only soccer allows us to dream…

Messi until 2026: A growing reality?

Lionel Messi’s stay at Inter Miami until 2025 is already secured by contract, but the club’s owners, led by Jorge Más, have bigger ambitions. With a new stadium set to open in 2026, the idea of extending Messi’s contract is seen as a strategic move. Más has made it clear he would like to see Messi leading the team in competitions like the Concachampions and the League’s Cup, solidifying his place in the club’s history.

Moreover, Messi’s presence has already raised Inter Miami’s standards on and off the field, breaking attendance records and boosting interest in MLS. But is this enough to sustain the club’s ambition of becoming a global giant?

Neymar’s return to the spotlight. More than desire?

Despite much celebration upon his signing, as documented in a recent Netflix documentary, Neymar’s low number of appearances and dissatisfaction with the Saudi club could lead him to land in Miami and revive the “Dream Attack.”

Neymar’s name has resurfaced in Inter Miami’s backstage conversations. The Brazilian star plays for Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia, with a contract until June 2025. However, Jorge Más has not hidden his interest in bringing Neymar to MLS in the future, a move that could turn Inter Miami into a true media and sporting powerhouse.

Although the league’s salary cap rules are a hurdle, the club has already demonstrated creativity in negotiations to attract significant stars. Neymar could be the final piece to reunite the MSN trio, delivering unprecedented spectacle to American fans.

Luis Suárez and Mascherano: Are the pieces already on the board?

Another factor fueling speculation is Luis Suárez’s recent contract renewal until 2025. The Uruguayan striker, a key piece in Barcelona’s historic trio, is already in sync with Messi on the field. Additionally, Javier Mascherano’s arrival as coach strengthens the presence of Messi’s former teammates, creating a familiar and strategic environment for the potential return of the MSN trio.

With these reinforcements, Inter Miami maintains its competitiveness. It opens the door to an enticing narrative: reuniting players who defined an era in European soccer for a new chapter in the United States.

Is Inter Miami ready to recreate the MSN Trio in MLS?

The question remains: how far is Inter Miami willing to go to make this vision a reality? Recreating the MSN trio would be more than just a marketing move; it would be a milestone for MLS and a turning point in international soccer. The club’s ambition is clear, but executing this idea will depend on contract negotiations, adherence to league rules, and the players’ willingness to embrace the project.
While Inter Miami’s plans continue to evolve, one thing is sure: the future of the Pink Shirts promises to be exciting. Whether with Messi, Neymar, Suárez, or new talents, the team is determined to make its mark globally.

Could the MSN trio indeed be reborn in the United States? Time will tell, but Inter Miami fans already have plenty of reasons to dream.
