Fabio didn’t have his contract option exercised by the New York Red Bulls at the end of the 2021 season
The 2021 season for the New York Red Bulls is over. The red side of NY lost to Philadelphia Union on November 20th after a late goal in extra-time from outside the box. As expected, the team released the end-of-year decisions made by Head Coach Gerhard Struber who ended up choosing by not renewing the contract with the Brazilian Fabio who helped the team with 7 goals and 6 assists. Definitely a unexpected cut by Struber.
In a quick chat with the Territorio MLS team, Fabio told us a little bit more about his experiences at MLS and his advice to other players who might be interested in coming to the United States:
“Coming to the United States, playing in MLS and going to Playoffs was a great experience. My best memory was the goal who cliched our spot in the playoffs. I scored and the fans went crazy. The love of the fans with me will be something that I will remember forever.” – Fabio.
The Brazilian also told us that he experience was very positive and totally recommends the league to young players from Brazil.
With the end of his loan, Fabio hasn’t decided his future yet. He said that he is going to wait for the beginning of 2022 to make a decision. Before playing for the New York Red Bulls, he played for Oeste/BRA and Niigata/JAP.
