The new MLS sensation revealed to Territorio MLS that he could have chosen other club to represent earlier in this season
After 4 months in Major League Soccer, New York Red Bull’s forward Luquinhas is not only getting the attention of the press and fans in the United States but also in his home country, Brazil. Registering 5 goals and 3 assists in only 16 games, Luquinhas is the new star in New York, a strong candidate for the Newcomer of The Year Award.
Leaving Brazil at 17 years old, Luquinhas isn’t the most known face to the Brazilian soccer public but became a celebrity in his hometown Ceilandia, a city near Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. And his recent good performances in MLS called the attention of the press in Brazil to his game and league.

Most recently, Luquinhas was interviewed by GE.com, the most influential sports outlet in the country. In the interview, the reporters described the history of Luquinhas to the local public. In the interview still, the brazilian forward said that his success came quicker than expected and says that he is enjoying his time in the league.
With exclusivity to Territorio MLS, “Luqui” told us his biggest dream was to play in the ‘Brasileirao’, he had offers from Brazilian soccer when he was in the process of leaving Legia Warszawa/POL. One of the clubs interested was Fortaleza/CEA, currently in the Round of 16 of Copa Libertadores. Although it was his biggest dream, he decided to join the MLS to realize his wife’s dream to live in the United States.
