After the depart of Ashley Fletcher, the Red Bulls decided to look to the Brazilian market in search for another offensive piece to boost Gerhard Struber’s attack
After a long wait for the fans, the New York Red Bulls are close to sign the brazilian foward Elias Manoel on a loan basis from Grêmio. The deal was first reported by the jornalist João Guimarães, from Radio Gama Esportiva.
Elias, 20 years old, played 30 games this year among all competitions in Brazil, logging seven goals, including 2 goals in the Brazilian Série B, the secondi division where Gremio is fighting to go back to the first division.
“Yes, it proceeds. A loan until the end of the year”, Elias confirmed to me after a quick contact by text messages.
The news comes one day after the New York Red Bulls got embarrassed by the Colorado Rapids in a 5-4 defeat at the Red Bull Arena.
