The 23-year-old Uruguayan is one of the most important players in the history of Los Angeles FC and is on loan in Europe
Since September in Europe but without much success, the Uruguayan Diego Rossi is close to being announced by a giant Brazilian club. According to “Globo Esporte”, Flamengo/BRA is very close to announcing the striker as a new player for the 2022 season.
Also according to Globo Esporte, the directors of Flamengo went to Europe to deal with some transfers, such as the purchase of Andreas Pereira ex-Manchester United/ENG, and after some frustrated conversations with other attackers, Diego Rossi became an option and the club soon started conversations with the staff. The conversations were facilitated by Kiai Joorabchian. Valued at almost US$ 16 million (about R$ 82 million), Rossi has been on loan since September to Turkish soccer. At Fener, there were 26 games, 16 of them as a starter, with two goals scored and five assists.
Being able to play in all attacking positions, the player must remedy the request of the red-black coach, Paulo Sousa, who requested the hiring of an attacker for the sides of the field.
If confirmed, this will be the second sale of an LAFC player to Brazilian clubs. In December last year, Palmeiras hired midfielder Eduard Atuesta for US$3.7 million (R$20.7 million at the time) to buy 70% of the Colombian’s rights.
