Today (April 23rd), Territorio MLS achieved a historic mark by having for the first time two writers in the same coverage of a game in Major League Soccer. Our international correspondents Gustavo Lopes and Gustavo Guimaraes were present at Subaru Park in Chester, Pennsylvania to cover the game between Philadelphia Union and CF Montreal. Guimaraes made the post-game coverage in Portuguese, you can read by clicking here.
Although our team has made many appearances throughout different stadiums in MLS such as Red Bull Arena, Lumen Field, Gillette Stadium, Audi Field and others, we were never able to put two of our staff members in the same stadium in a official manner. For example, two of our members(Luis Castello and myself) were present at Trinity Health Stadium in Hartford, CT to watch the US Open Cup game between Hartford Athletic and New York Red Bulls, only Luis was there as a media member.
While Guimaraes is responsible for covering the Philadelphia Union in our website and is an active member of the press box at Subaru Park, it was my first experience in the stadium and totally loved it. Not only because of the beautiful view that we had in the press box but because of the atmosphere created by the Philadelphia Union fans. The smoke bombs, drums, chants and flags turns the place into a a excellent soccer ambient.
The house was full, nearly 19,000 fans went to the stadium in a beautiful Saturday afternoon. Although the game wasn’t the most exciting we’ve seen, our experience was great. We have pictures and videos on our social medias to everyone who wants to see a little bit more of our time here in Chester.
Thank You for all of our fans who made this day possible, nothing would be done without all the support we got from all of you.
