After drawing in the middle of the past week with Charlotte FC, the New York Red Bulls had little time to prepare themselves to get ready to face Atlanta United.

Even though the Red Bulls were missing essential players like Lewis Morgan (injured) and John Tolkin (called to represent the USA in the Gold Cup), the fans saw a complete change in the players’ attitudes. The result? A strong 4-0 over Atlanta with a brace from Frankie Amaya, Daniel Edelman, and Cristian Cásseres Jr in the club’s Pride Night of 2023.

More important than the win, New York now sits in 11th place in the Eastern Conference with 23 points, three less than DC United in the 9th spot among those who advance to the playoffs but one less match compared to DC. Atlanta remains in sixth with 29 points, in the same Eastern side of the MLS.
