Charlotte’s offer for Rodinei declined, other teams have interest.

Rodinei is not part of Flamengo’s plans in 2021 and may be sold to MLS.

According to journalists Cahe Mota and Fred Gomes of GE, the Brazilian sports newspaper, Flamengo/BRA declined an offer of approximately $452,000 for the right-back Rodinei (29). The Rio de Janeiro club says that the value offered by the right-back is below what the club understands to be acceptable.

While Charlotte does not make a new proposal for the player, two Brazilian clubs contacted Flamengo to find out about the situation of the player, who has a contract until the end of 2022. São Paulo/BRA and Internacional/BRA were interested in making a loan agreement with Flamengo, which initially considered extending the contract with the player until 2023, but this possibility has already been discarded by the directors.

The “Mengao” says it wants to sell the player permanently in this transfer window, as the club is undergoing a rebuild on its roster, after going through 2021 without gaining any relevant title. Despite the interest of Brazilian clubs, Flamengo is still waiting for another offer from Charlotte, who runs as favorite in the race for the player.

Rodinei is a request from coach Miguel Angel Ramirez, who trained Internacional/BRA in 2021, before taking on the project at the MLS expansion club. According to journalist Vene Casagrande, the coach himself called Rodinei with the intention of convincing the player to move to the United States.
